Srd.sassa.gov.za Banking Details Submission

If you are scheduled to receive your SRD R350 grant payment, you must submit your banking details to receive the money. This article will provide steps to complete the srd.sassa.gov.za banking details submission process. Initially, there were some fairly significant delays in grant payment due to problems with bank details not being verified, so SASSA officially made a statement about how the process works and what steps should be taken.

How To Submit Banking Details To Sassa

  1. Visit the sassa website srd.sassa.gov.za
  2. Scroll down to the “South African ID holders” section and click proceed
  3. Scroll down to the “How do I change my banking details” section
  4. Enter your ID number
  5. The sassa banking details link will be sent to the mobile phone number used when registering for the SRD application via text/SMS
  6. Click the link in the text message and follow the instructions.

please ensure that you are the owner of the account you submit here i.e. the bank account name must match the name on your SRD application. SASSA cannot pay your grant into another person’s bank account. Once the account is verified, it will be used for future payments.

Should you select the money transfer option via one of the major banks, please ensure that the mobile phone number on which you received the SMS is registered in your name. SASSA cannot pay your grant to a mobile phone number which is registered to another person.

How To Change/Update Banking Details on Sassa

If you have previously submitted your banking details but you would like to change/update it, you can also follow the same procedure listed above:

  1. Visit the sassa website srd.sassa.gov.za
  2. Scroll down to the “South African ID holders” section and click proceed
  3. Scroll down to the “How do I change my banking details” section
  4. Enter your South African ID number
  5. The sassa banking details link will be sent via SMS to your mobile phone number
  6. Click the link in the text message and follow the instructions.

Note that you may first have to confirm your existing personal banking details before you are allowed to change it to a new one, This is done for security purposes. Once you have followed the procedure and done everything right, you will receive a message like this:
