SACAP Bursary South Africa 2024 – Apply Now

South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) is now inviting students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2024 academic year. This bursary is targeted at South African students studying architecture.

South African Council for the Architectural Profession is the regulatory body for the architectural profession, within South Africa. The council is committed to guiding, facilitating and promoting a high standard of competency and responsibility in the architectural profession through the granting of professional certification, as well as to increasing public awareness of the range of architectural services offered.

About the SACAP Bursary

As mentioned previously, this bursary will be awarded to students studying Architecture at an accredited University in South Africa. Bursary is only available for students in undergraduate up to Honours level. Note that preference will be given to applicants from designated groups.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 2 months after the closing date, so if you do not receive any feedback from SACAP by this time, it means that your application was unsuccessful.

Eligibility Criteria

For an applicant to be considered eligible for the SACAP bursary, he/she must meet the following requirements (failure to meet requirements will result in a rejected application):

  • Must be a South African
  • Must have completed Matric
  • Must be studying towards an Architecture qualification at an accredited Architectural Learning institution in South Africa
  • Must be entering your 2nd or later year of study (up to Honours), in 2024
  • Students without a disability must have a total household income of R350 000 per annum or less
  • Students with a disability must have a total household income of R600 000 per annum or less

How to Apply for the SACAP Bursary

There is no application form for this bursary, you just have to submit copies of the following supporting documents either by email, post or hand delivery:

  • Certified copy of your South African ID Document
  • Certified copy of your Matric certificate
  • Certified copy of your most recent academic results and full academic record
  • Motivational letter explaining why you are applying for this bursary
  • Parents, guardians or your proof of household income (latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed)
  • Parents, guardians or your own 3 months recent bank statements
  • Medical note stating type of disability, if living with a disability

Closing Date

Applications for the SACAP bursary will close on 29th February 2024, so make sure you apply on or before the specified date so that your application will be considered.
