Moshal Scholarship Program 2024 – How to Apply

Moshal has started accepting applications for a scholarship opportunity from students who wish to study towards a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics OR Commerce. If you are a student studying in South Africa in need of financial assistance, you can apply for this scholarship.

About Moshal Scholarship Program

The Moshal Program is a non-profit organization that supports highly-motivated and tenacious students to complete their university education, which will help them better their future and hopefully that of their communities one day.

The Moshal Scholarship will provide its recipients with full tuition fees, and other benefits such as:

  • One-on-one support throughout the degree
  • Career guidance
  • Professional workshops and training
  • Additional English training
  • CV writing skills, mock interviews and vac work opportunities

Eligibility Requirements

For a student to be considered eligible for the Moshal Scholarship, he/she has to meet up with the following requirements:

  • He/she must be studying or intend on studying towards a Degree within one of the fields within STEM or Commerce (listed below)
  • He/she must be studying or intend on studying at one of the following selected universities:
    • University of Witwatersrand (Wits)
    • University of Pretoria (UP)
    • University of Cape Town (UCT)
    • Stellenbosch University (SUN)
    • University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN)
    • University of Free State (UFS)
    • University of Johannesburg (UJ)
  • He/she must have achieved a minimum result of 70% for English, Mathematics, Physical Science and/or Accounting
  • He/she must have a family income of NOT more than R200 000 per annum (before deductions)

  • Pharmacy (only at the University of KwaZulu-Natal)
  • Veterinary Science

Technology:

  • Information Science
  • Information Systems
  • Information Technology

Engineering:

  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronic Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechatronic Engineering

Mathematics:

  • Actuarial Science
  • Econometrics
  • Mathematics
  • Statistics

Commerce:

  • Accounting
  • Economics
  • Financial Sciences
  • Investment Management
  • Management Sciences

How to Apply for Moshal Scholarship Program

  2. Read through the page and click the “apply” button
  3. Register your account or login if you already have one
  4. Complete your application
  5. Upload the required supporting documents

Supporting Documents

  • Copy of your ID (does not need to be certified) –  If you are not a South African Citizen, please provide a copy of your passport and ,if available, your study visa
  • Copy of parent/guardian ID
  • Declaration / Consent Form signed by my Parents/Guardian (required if you are under 18 years old)
  • Grade 11 November results
  • Proof of all Social Grants – letter or statement, not scan of SASSA card
    • OR 3 months’ bank statement from your parents/guardian (not your personal bank account), from ALL of their bank accounts
    • OR affidavit stating they don’t have a bank account

Closing Date

The Moshal Scholarship program will stop accepting applications on the 31st December 2023, so make sure you apply before that day
