About Latsatsi Borutho Trust Bursary

The Letsatsi Borutho Trust is a community trust that is affiliated with the Droogfontein Solar Power plant that was set up to benefit communities within a 50-kilometre radius of the plant. One way in which the Trust provides for community members, is by offering bursary funding to youth residing in the company’s geographical operational.

The Letsatsi Borutho Trust bursary will cover the tuition fees for its recipients, along with the following expenses:  accommodation, living expenses and study materials.

Eligibility Requirements

In order to be considered eligible for the Letsatsi Borutho Trust bursary, you have to meet up with the following requirements:

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must not be older than 35 years old
  • You must reside within a 50km radius of the Droogfontein Solar Power plant, in the Northern Cape
  • You must have been accepted to study at a recognised public or private tertiary institution in South Africa (University, University of Technology or TVET College)
  • matriculation is a requirement
