ITHUBA Bursary 2024 – How to Apply

ITHUBA is now inviting students to apply for their 2024 bursary programme. The bursary is open to all South African students who need financial assistance to complete their tertiary education.

ITHUBA Holdings is a privately held firm founded by the Zamani Equity Fund and has been operating as a National Lottery organization in South Africa since 2015. Through this Bursary Programme, the company aims to make a sustainable impact in education and increase expertise and key skills for the market in South Africa, thereby leaving a legacy that will change the lives of future generations.

The ITHUBA bursary programme opened its application on 20th December 2023 and will close on 8th January 2024, so if you’re interested in applying for this bursary, read this article, follow its guidelines, and apply on time.

About ITHUBA Bursary

For the 2024 year, this Bursary Programme will award many deserving learners with 100% bursaries. The beneficiaries of these bursaries will receive all expenses paid towards their tuition including, housing, textbooks, laptops, and stipend. bursaries will be awarded to applicants who want to pursue a qualification in one of the fields of study below:

Commerce

  • Accounting
  • Management Accounting and Finance
  • Marketing

Information Technology

  • Computer Science/Engineering
  • Information Systems
  • Communication Networks
  • Software Development

Eligibility Criteria

For a student to be considered eligible for the ITHUBA bursary, they must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a South African
  • Must have been accepted to study at a South African tertiary institution
  • Must be a high-achieving learner in Grade 12
  • Must have obtained a 70% average (or above) for each subject and a 70% average (or above) total average of the Applicant’s subjects from the previous academic year.
  • Parent/Guardian household income must not be more than R350 000 per annum

How to Apply for the ITHUBA Bursary

Visit the application portal, if you don’t have an account, click on the “Create my account” link below the login button. Once you’ve registered, go back to the login page and log in with your new details and complete your application. You are required to provide the following documentation during your application:

  • a certified copy of their South African ID, along with copies of their legal guardians’ IDs,
  • proof of legal guardian’s income (not above R350,000.00 per annum),
  • a certified copy of their latest academic results,
  • a provisional letter of admission from a South African tertiary institution,
  • a provisional letter of admission from a South African tertiary institution’s residency or private accommodation,
  • a motivational letter motivating why the ITHUBA Bursary Programme should be awarded to you and how you plan to contribute to your community’s upliftment.
