The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA) is now inviting student nurses to apply for their bursary programme for the 2024 academic year. This bursary is targeted at South African nurses who are members of DENOSA and are registered with an educational institution for the 2024 academic year.
Established on 5 December 1996, the Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA) is a national nursing association (NNA) and a representative organisation of nurses and nursing in South Africa, advancing the aspirations of nurses and advocating for their growth as both professionals and workers in the workplace.
About DENOSA Bursary
Bursaries will be awarded to students according to merit in 2024. The bursary funds will be deposited into the institution’s account, not the applicant’s personal banking Account.
The DENOSA bursary will cover the following expenses for its recipients; Tuition fee, Examination fee, Prescribed books, Board and Lodging (if away from permanent place of residence). Please note that the amounts of the bursaries are SMALL and, when a bursary be awarded, it will only cover a small portion of the expenses.
Eligibility Requirements
For an applicant to be considered eligible for this bursary, he/she must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a South African
- Must be a registered nurse and/or midwife
- Must have undertaken a certain amount of approved post-basic work.
- Must have been accepted for the course and registered with the educational institution for the 2024 academic year
- Must have been a fully paid-up member of DENOSA for a minimum of 2 (TWO) years preceding the application
- Must be fully paid-up with DENOSA for the academic year for which he/she applies and remain a paid-up member of DENOSA for the duration of the course/degree for which the bursary was awarded.
- Application forms MUST be signed in the presence of a Commissioner of Oaths and attested by him/her.
How to Apply for the DENOSA Bursary
Download the bursary application form for 2024 and print it out. Alternatively, you can also obtain the application form from the following offices:
- The Secretary, DENOSA Study Fund Committee, P O Box 1280, Pretoria, 0001.
- Provincial Offices of DENOSA.
Once you have gotten it, read the requirements for each type of course, and fill it completely. After filling the form, you are to submit at the office of the Secretary which is listed above, or email it to [email protected].
Attach your proof of registration to an institution to the application form. If the document isn’t available by the closing date, arrangements can be made with the secretary to provide it at a later stage. Applicants should refrain from contacting the donor firms regarding bursaries, except to express gratitude. Successful applicants will be contacted as early as April 2024.
Closing Date
DENOSA will stop collecting applications for this bursary on 31st January 2024. Any application sent in after this date will be rejected so make sure you apply on or before the closing date.
