Africa Wetu Foundation Bursary South Africa 2024 – Apply Now

The Africa Wetu Foundation invites students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2024 academic year. This bursary is targeted at South African undergraduate students in their final year of study.

The AWF was created to give African students access to educational opportunities that enhance their skills and knowledge.  The organization’s mission is to increase the accessibility of education for young students through the effective mobilization of relationships, innovation, and resources. Their vision is to play a part in solving the problem we face of many under-skilled and uneducated youth. Their vision is to empower disadvantaged communities and allow them access to education and a future.

About The Africa Wetu Foundation Bursary

This bursary will cover only the tuition fees of its recipients. It will be awarded to South African undergraduate students studying towards a qualification in one of the following fields of study:

  • Engineering and the Built Environment
  • Science
  • Health Sciences

Eligibility Requirements

For an applicant to be deemed eligible for the Africa Wetu Foundation bursary, he/she must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be a South African
  • You must be studying at a registered university in South Africa
  • You must be entering your final year of study in 2024
  • You must be studying towards an undergraduate qualification, within one of the fields listed above

How to Apply for the Africa Wetu Foundation Bursary

Download the AWF application form 2024 (PDF), fill it out completely, attach the required supporting documents and submit it via email to [email protected]. The following is a list of documents to be attached to your application form:

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Academic transcripts/ record of results (certified copy)
  • CV
  • A single-page motivational letter to support your application.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a virtual interview and after the interview, successful applicants will be selected and informed about their award status by 31 March 2024. So if you are not contacted for shortlisting or after the interview, consider your application unsuccessful.

Closing Date

Applications for the Africa Wetu Foundation bursary will close on 29th February 2024. Any application sent in after this date will not be accepted so make sure you apply on or before the closing date.
