SepFluor Nokeng Fluorspar Mine Bursary 2024 – How to Apply

SepFluor is now inviting students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2024 academic year. The bursary is open to students who reside within labour surrounding areas of the Nokeng Fluorspar Mine, near Pretoria.

SepFluor Limited, established in 2004, is a leading exploration, mining, and beneficiation company in South Africa and globally. Compliant with Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) guidelines, it focuses on the Nokeng and Wallmannsthal Fluorspar Mines north of Pretoria, with an estimated 12Mt Mineral Reserve at Nokeng and a 7.9Mt Resource at Wallmannsthal.

The company also explores Welgelegen/Welgevonden and Kruidfontein Fluorspar Deposits. SepFluor is developing a fluorochemical beneficiation plant in Ekandustria, reflecting the growing demand for fluorochemical products in Southern Africa and worldwide, aligning with South African Government initiatives for mineral beneficiation and the fluorochemical industry’s development.

About SepFluor Bursary

This bursary is meant to grant deserving, underprivileged students the opportunity to achieve their academic goals, thus helping SepFluor give back to and uplift people within the community and country. Bursaries will be awarded to applicants who reside within the labour-surrounding areas of the Nokeng Fluorspar mine.

Applicant(s) must be studying or be willing to study towards a qualification in one of the fields of study below:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Commerce (Marketing)
  • Environment
  • Finance
  • Geology
  • Human Resources
  • Information Technology
  • Legal Studies
  • Metallurgy
  • Mining Engineering
  • Safety

Eligibility Criteria

For an applicant to be considered eligible for the SepFluor Nokeng bursary programme, he/she must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be from a previously disadvantaged group
  • Must reside within the labour surrounding areas of SepFluor mine (in Rust de Winter, north-east Pretoria)
  • Must be currently in Matric (in 2023) or have completed Matric
  • Must be studying or intend on studying a course within one of the fields of study listed above
  • Must have achieved a minimum overall average of 60% in your most recent studies

How to Apply for SepFluor Bursary

If you’re ready to apply for this bursary, download the application form 2024 (PDF), fill it out completely, attach the required documents and submit it via email to [email protected]. The following are the documents that are to be attached:

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Matric certificate/ statement of results if not yet available (certified copy)
  • Full 2023 academic record, if currently studying (certified copy)
  • Proof of registration and acceptance into a tertiary institution
  • Proof of residence

None of the certified documents should be older than three months.
